The 6th annual bicycle and pedestrian count is conducted by the Duluth-Superior Metropolitan Interstate Council and Healthy Duluth Area Coalition (Zetigeist Center for Arts & Community), and we can’t do it without the help of dozens of volunteers! Volunteers collect data at stations across the city for use as baseline data to compare usage before and after the installation of bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure improvements. Data is also used to help refine future bikeway routes and pedestrian improvements. Volunteers are asked to commit to a 2 hour timeslot. Training is provided (on Monday, September 11). This volunteer opportunity is suitable for teens and adults, though everyone is welcome to bring along younger kids.
