Watershed: Wild Humans

“Since 2012 I have been using photography to explore the Lake Superior Watershed. The collection of large format photographs I have made belong to a project I refer to as Watershed. The photographic collection is an attempt to take an honest look at how people have inhabited and use the lands around Lake Superior in the early 21st century.

This photographs selected for this exhibition explore some of the ways that people interact first hand with the landscapes and cityscapes throughout the region.

I graduated from University Minnesota Duluth in 2003 with a major in Computer Science and minor in Art. I currently live and work in Duluth, MN. In 2016 I received an McKnight/ARAC Individual Artist Fellowship, and have several photographs in the permanent collection at the Tweed Museum of Art.

This activity is made possible in part by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council, thanks to appropriations from The McKnight Foundation and the Minnesota State Legislature’s general and arts and cultural heritage funds.”
