The Engine Inside tells the stories of six everyday people from all over the globe who reveal the unique power of the bicycle to change lives and build a better world. Through each character’s story, the film uncovers the often-overlooked potential of this 200-year-old machine, exploring its impact on a wide range of global issues such as physical and mental health, socioeconomic inequality, and climate change.
Join us for this ONE-NIGHT ONLY screening followed by a social hour/community conversation about challenges & opportunities in our active transportation networks.

ABOUT THE DOC & TALK SERIES
This summer, fall, and winter, Zeitgeist is embarking on a transforming transportation journey to connect, educate, and advocate against barriers that persist in our transportation networks. Our Transportation Equity Doc & Talk Series follows the history of transportation in this country from buses and bikes to super highways and self-driving cars; and includes films like Straight Line Crazy about the lasting legacy of Robert Moses (screened May 25) and Biking While Black: Continuing to Ride Through Decriminalization, Disenfranchisement & Gentrification (coming October 26).
Community members of all ages and backgrounds from across the Twin Ports region are invited to join these monthly screenings of documentaries followed by community conversations. By the end of the Doc & Talk series, our hope is to have a deepened collective understanding of transportation inequities in our community along with more fully realized methods for building cultures, structures, and infrastructure that ensure transportation autonomy for all.
