Join us for the artist reception of Cherry Koch! Cherry’s exhibit “Rug on Fire” is on display in the atrium for the month of March!
Artist’s Statement:
Cherry Koch works her studio in Duluth Minnesota where she produces paintings, sculptures, and other mixed media creations. Cherry has accumulated a long history of non-traditional experience, including warehouse art exhibits, underground fashion shows, and DIY festivals.

Despite living in a city with no lack of inspiring vistas, you won’t find landscapes inside of her sketchbooks. People, emotions, and relationships are what motivates Cherry’s work. Her narrative infused portraits are “love letters” to her friends, as she creates dreamy worlds for them to exist in eternally. Making use of a bright color pallet, the paintings conjure a feeling of nostalgia while the subject matter within adds a layer of unexpected horror. This is her depiction of reality, void of toxic positivity.
