While proposals are still being accepted for the restaurant space, Zeitgeist is concurrently accepting applications for an Executive Chef/General Manager of the Zeitgeist Arts Cafe. Candidates for the Executive Chef/General Manager position are encouraged to share their vision for the future of a successful restaurant program. Candidates who apply through this channel or through the RFP will be weighted equally.

“Very Small Things Surrounding Us” by Adam Swanson is now on display in the Zeitgeist atrium! Come stop by when the bar is open from 4 to 7 on Friday evenings.

“I’ve recently been fascinated by the amazing amount of mystery happening in the world of the very small, right outside my door,” says Swanson in his artist statement. “These three paintings of tardigrades, feature diatoms photographed by researchers Euan Reavie and Elizabeth Alexson at the National Resources Research Institute here in northern Minnesota.”

This project was made possible by the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council Working Artist’s Grant. The Arrowhead Regional Arts Council (ARAC) seeks to facilitate and encourage local arts development. This mission statement grows from a conviction that the arts improve the quality of life in the region.

See more of Adam’s work on his website.

Zeitgeist’s bar will now be open Fridays during Gumbo Boi’s curbside pickup hours, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Beer and wine will be available with curbside pickup orders, or folks can dine at a socially distanced table in the bar or atrium for the first time since August. New Orleans inspired cocktails will be available for those who dine in house.

All Zeitgeist staff, servers and cooks have been trained to follow the most up to date COVID-19 guidelines including masking, social distancing and handwashing. To minimize contact, drink orders will be placed at the bar as opposed to table service.

There are several sanitation stations throughout the Zeitgeist building, and masks are required aside from when customers are seated at their table eating or drinking. Customers are encouraged to pay via credit card.

Gumbo Boi is available for curbside pickup on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Sandwiches are available Mondays & Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. & 4 to 6 p.m. Fridays consist of cajun and creole favorites like jambalaya and gumbo. Pickup is from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., and you now have the option of dining at Zeitgeist.

HotBox Duluth will be open for curbside pickup & delivery on Wednesdays & Saturdays from 2 to 8 p.m.

They will be serving “kids meals for adults” with dishes like mac ‘n’ cheese, corn dogs, and sandwiches.
