SEEKING: Submissions for the Renegade’s Barrel of Laughs: A New Short Play Festival in June 2026

Submit your work(s) any time between now and April 26

This will be an evening of 5-8 short comedic plays and monologues

We’re looking for short comedic plays and monologues. Though there are no conditions on structure, content, genre; we’re seeking works to be part of a celebration of comedy. As this is a festival with multiple plays, the technical elements will be kept simple and will be a consideration as we are selecting plays.

Plays will be selected based on:

• Relevance to the spirit of the festival – Comedy
• Adherence to ‘The Details’
• Excellence of work

The Details:

• There is no fee to submit
• A playwright can submit up to 2 plays, but must be submitted separately (in separate emails)
• Each submission must be no more than 20 pages (excluding title page) at a font no smaller than 11pt
• Plays submitted must be unpublished
• We will only accept Non-musical scripts
•  Scripts can only be submitted electronically – RenegadeBarrel@gmail.com
• Submissions must be in PDF format
• Title page must contain playwright contact information
• You will receive a notification that submissions have been received – no other contact will be made unless the script is selected for production
• Submission Deadline: April 26, 2026 by 11:59PM NO EXCEPTIONS
