WHAT IS THE MFF PITCH COMPETITION?

The MFF Pitch Competition is an annual competition where emerging filmmakers from across the Midwest have ten minutes to pitch their next film production for financial support. Participants present their concepts or works in progress to a panel of judges composed of filmmakers and industry professionals, who will offer constructive feedback to all participants. To participate you can either watch in the audience or submit to the Pitch Competition HERE. The deadline to submit is January 3, 2025! Have questions? Email vera@zeitgeistarts.com.

Vera Bianchini

“The film industry is making a huge comeback and our local filmmakers are really making a splash! During MFF, our audience will enjoy films produced right in our own backyard by local filmmakers, including the North Shore and Iron Range. In addition to our local films, we have an impressive lineup from all across the globe. Our Pitch Competition, one of many educational aspects of our festival, consists of a promising group of Midwest filmmakers looking for a chance to be awarded grants for their films. Outside of film screenings and the Pitch Competition, there will be panels, parties, and food – a true celebration of the arts and storytelling where everyone is invited to join us.”
