“Film is an important means of communication. It is an art form that can unite us, define eras, influence change, and bring us comfort. Since I started coming to the Zinema, I always looked forward to seeing films about new cultures, innovative filmmaking, and odd and refreshing ways of telling stories. As a programmer, I try to find things that are, above all, interesting. I try to show stories you haven’t seen, perspectives that take space in your head for days after viewing. Movies that welcome, movies that push the boundaries, and movies that we can actively cheer or dance at. Most of my favorite cinematic memories have taken place in this building and I want to create that same thing for you.”
